We're honored to share that Cherry Circle Room is among the Wine Spectator 2016 Best of Award of Excellence winners. Huge congrats to our wine director Andrew Algren for his incredible work with the wine program, and to the whole team.
Portland-based Union Wine Co. is on an epic cross country summer road trip, and they’re making stops at some of your favorite Land and Sea Dept. spots while they’re in Chicago. They’ll be pulling up their nifty custom re-purposed 1972 Citroën H Van to Parson’s, OSD at Longman & Eagle, and the CAA for happy hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They’ll be serving their Oregon wines straight from the can, including their brand new Sparkling wine - and we have a feeling some of that wine might make it’s way into a slushy at Parson’s, too…
Union Wine Co. will be popping up at:
Parson’s Chicken & Fish - Thursday, July 7 from 3-6pm
OSB @ Longman & Eagle - Friday, July 8 from 3-6pm
Madison Alley at the Chicago Athletic Association from 2-5pm

We've been enjoying spending time with Nathaniel Russell’s Slow Comet art installation at the Chicago Athletic Association.
But, as we know, nothing gold can stay, and soon it will be time for the work to make its way back to Nathaniel’s doorstep. The pieces are all currently for sale, so if you are interested in purchasing a real art work, feel free to reach out to him via Instagram. Make your way to the hotel to check out the work - it's up through June 30.
Land and Sea Dept. and the Chicago Athletic Association hotel are going nautical this summer with the Cherry Circle Yacht Club, a bar concept popping up on the ground floor of the CAA from June 10 - June 26.
The pop-up’s opening weekend coincides with the world-renowned America’s Cupsailing competition, happening on Lake Michigan for the first time on June 10 - 12.
The Cherry Circle Yacht Club is inspired by the Chicago Athletic Association’s own yacht team from the early 20th century, and is named after their boat, the Cherry Circle. The concept was developed Chicago-based art gallery Johalla Projects and Ship to Shore Productions, content creators specializing in science, nature, and conservation story telling. Johalla Projects also designed the space, which will be housed in a freestanding structure in the hotel's Tank event space, outfitted in vintage furniture, maritime-inspired décor, and coastal touches.

Thanks to everyone that came out last night for 'Burger Night' at Publican Quality Meats. The evening's outing pitted the Cherry Circle Room against Cindy's, with CCR executive chef Pete Coenen facing off with Cindy's executive Christian Ragano, each creating delicious burgers that the many, many revelers consumed happily.
Cindy's 'spirt guide' Nandini Khaund and LSD beverage director Paul McGee each contributed paired cocktails for the event, making for a really great evening of drinking, eating and general good times.
We are psyched to share that the Game Room's featured brewery this month is 3 Floyd's Brewing Co., out of Munster, Indiana! Bar manager Dave Thompson will be tapping special kegs every Monday night, during our Reckless Records DJ set (8pm - midnight).

Join winemaker Didier Seguier for a 4-course paired dinner in Cherry Circle Room exploring William Fevre Chablis. Guests will join Didier, who is visiting from Chablis, in the Drawing Room for an opening reception at 6pm, featuring passed bites and a preview of the 2014 vintages. Following the reception, guests will enjoy a four-course dinner in Cherry Circle Room from executive chef Pete Coenen, paired with William Fevre Chablis back catalog vintages. Andrew Algren, Cherry Circle Room’s wine director and sommelier, will also be on hand to discuss the catalog and pairings with guests.
The intimate dinner will allow Didier to educate each guest individually, discussing his decades making wine in Cognac, Bordeaux, Alsace, Champagne, the Côtes du Rhône, Burgundy (where he worked with Bouchard Père & Fils under Philippe Prost), and especially Chablis, where he has been working with the Henriot family since their purchase of William Fevre in 1998. Didier has since elevated William Fevre to new heights, joining the ranks of the top Chablis producers in the world. With its 47 hectare Domaine, more than half are in Chablis Premier Cru (12 hectares) and Grand Cru (15.2 hectares), William Fèvre owns the widest array of Grands Crus vineyards.
Tickets are available at milkroom.tocktix.com (choose the ‘William Fevre Winemaker Dinner’ experience) for $90 per person, including both the dinner and pairings. This will be the first in a series of monthly winemaker dinners hosted by Cherry Circle Room.
Join us in the second floor Drawing Room at the Chicago Athletic Hotel (12 S. Michigan) on Sunday, March 27th for the latest installment of the Storytelling Series, from 2-4pm on Sunday, March 27. This week, we’re excited to welcome musician Ted Leo, of Ted Leo of the Pharmacists.
Since the early ’90s, Ted Leo has been one of the most progressive forces in East Coast independent music, with a unique combination of punk and folk, soul and hardcore, and tradition and experimentation. Originally rising to fame in the late-’80s New York hardcore scene by playing with Citizen’s Arrest and Animal Crackers, Leo left New York for Washington, D.C., in 1990, when he founded and fronted Chisel, one of the first mod/punk revival outfits to gain national renown. Leo was the primary songwriter and singer of Chisel, recording two full-length records with the band which were released on Gern Blandsten in the mid-’90s and leading the band on countless short tours. The songwriting was as infectious and calculated as that of Brit rock legends the Kinks, yet the rhythms remained fueled by the anthemic energy reminiscent of bands like the Who and the Clash. He eventually recorded a self-titled full-length on his homestead, Gern Blandsten Records, in 1999 with a new band, the Pharmacists, that included various friends and affiliates of the Secret Stars, including Jodi Buonanno. This record marked a notable change in Leo’s sound, which, mostly due to his performance practices, was more and more rooted in songwriting legends like Billy Bragg and Alex Chilton. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists released a split with the One AM Radio later that year as a collaborative effort of both Gern Blandsten and Garbage Czar. In early 2013, Ted Leo and Aimee Mann formed a duo called The Both, after Leo had toured with Mann for several months as her supporting act. The two began writing songs together, and in March 2013, performed their first show together as The Both. Their self-titled debut album released in April 2014.
Ted Leo is currently working on the follow up to ‘The Brutalist Bricks’, to be released late 2016.
